I have used Kotton Kleanser for years and have had great luck with it in the art restoration field. I have used it on phonographs on many occasions. Go slow is the best advice I can give. On normal surfaces I leave it on for 5 minutes or so and than wipe down, but I repeat the process until no more dirt comes up. I than take a white scotch brite pad and do one more pass.
On the decal areas I use the same method but I work around the decal with q tips until my last pass before the scotch brite pad. Than I carefully clean that area-DO NOT GO OVER THE DECAL WITH THE SCOTCH BRITE PAD.
