How about paying with a postal money order? Just go to the post office, have it made payable to the seller, purchase it, put it in an envelope and mail it to him. It's as good as cash. He can cash it right at his local post office.
That way, it should not matter to him whether you exist or not. He gets his money and sends the part to you. Do you really exist or not? Wow!! Now I have heard them all!!
