The point being that you should not improve the "security" at that
point, you should simply use the tools you already have in
PostgreSQL. How about extending PostgreSQL to do db-based
authentication instead (i'm not a very experienced pgsql user, so i'm
just concluding this from what you've said earlier) ?

And to mention one other thing that i've seen more frequently on the
list in the last months; if someone objects to a patch, people tend to
get rather "heated up" as you put it. Even if it doesnt get commited,
you'll still be able to solve -your- problem, right? You're free to
offer that patch to anyone who want it, but please, dont get angry
when someone doesnt agree in the way something get done.

I'll have to agree with the earlier posts, i think this is the wrong
place to add anything like this.
