It wasn't being showed, but $value[1] only contained the % newline \n character if there wasn't anything to fill it from the csv % file. Aha! % % I changed my if condition to if ($value[1] == "\n") and it then went % inside the condition. You might prefer to trim() your input and go back to "" instead.
