Hmm, don't know much about raq3 but if it has GNU Make (ver 3.78.1 or newer) it should compile with any Unix C compiler.
make setup CFG="--prefix=/usr/local/freetype2" make make install Hope this helps, from memory it is a little fiddly sometimes hard to get GD to see the freetype2 libs/includes, but if you get it compiled you should have no problems.
