I was actually counting on a split using the old-and-proven CVS cp
method, and that we actually switch repositories some time after that
after all the dust has settled.
Because, indeed, waiting for the new repository (be it git or SVN or
anything else) will not only delay things until is decided which way to
move; but it will also stifle development because all tools need to be
adjusted to the new repository before we can proceed.
So, in the spirit of Leisure Suit Larry: split early, split often.
