Okay, after changing the modem and HotSync cables around (since I know the
Modem port works), I tried  <rm /dev/pilot and then ln -s /dev/ttysX
/dev/pilot>
and then changed permissions. No luck.

Then I tried using just kpilot and changed the port settings to correspond
to the correct port. Again, no luck. I even tried all the different prot
speeds without success.

Maybe I am jinxed?
