When a human watches a movie at 24/25 frames per second (perceived normal
motion) , that human is actually seeing the darkness of the shutter closure
while the next frame is being "loaded". The brain is still processing the last
image, this phenomenon is called the "persistence of vision".
You are basically sitting in a black room half the time you are in the cinema.
Televisions, however, use "fields" as opposed to frames which is the monitor
Cathode Ray Tube scanning/firing lines across the screen.
