The only thing blocking us for releasing 0.13.4 are the crossfade
transitions. We already have 'alpha' video mixing in git which works
pretty well (i.e. you can overlap videos vertically and modify their
transparency), but Brandon is working hard on the finishing touches to
be able to have transitions work when you overlap horizontally.
Along with that, we have the long list of bugs from 0.13.3 that were
fixed (including the many rendering bugs).
What I'd *highly* recommend at this point is to have git checkouts of
PiTiVi packaged for Lucid so that people can test the upcoming version
and report bugs *NOW* for the version which will be shipped (and not the
6 months old version). Brett has already done such a package/PPA (see
mail in this thread), and you should try that.

I think the stand PiTiVi has been taking for the past 5+ years is not
going to change just because of inclusion in Lucid, and it has worked
pretty well so far : "When it's ready and not a second before".
There's always alternative FOSS video editors out there, with more
features, more bling, maybe less stable. The reason PiTiVi was picked up
for Lucid is because (1) virtually all its dependencies are already
shipped, (2) it doesn't depend on any packages that can't be shipped on
the CD (for whatever reason).
For every person loudly complaining about PiTiVi utterly sucking,
being lame, not having feature XYZ, I can find 2 others that are in love
with it because they could 'actually' do the simple task they wanted in
a few clicks. So I'd say lack of feature is not a blocker for going in
Lucid...
... but then again I'm not the person who has the final word on
whether PiTiVi gets shipped in Lucid, and I'll still sleep like a log[0]
if it doesn't get included.

Yes, those bugs should have been fixed.
