I hadn't thought of it that way, but I take your point.

My idea was more about packagers picking arbitrary (i.e. wrong)
perms for things-- and thus hoping that we could pick sane defaults
in as many cases as possible.

But stylistically I guess that doesn't fit in with the rest of
IPS, at least as currently incarnate.
