I am considering adding Applications/Terminal-based for things like
SUNWgroff, SUNWdoc, SUNWjdoc, etc. Thoughts?
I would not be in favour of having Applications/Terminal-based.
Categorisation based on purpose rather than implementation seems more
logical.
The categorization is really based on the style of use, not
implementation. Using terminal based applications is quite different
from GUI-based apps both in how it is started and the style of
interaction. Ideally the two types would be separated into separate
primary categories, but there are so few that it seemed reasonable to
fiet them within a single subcategory of Applications.
The point I was making is that users when they're looking for
applications probably won't be thinking "Terminal-based" applications.
They'll be looking for editors, compilers, validators, viewers, mail
clients, etc.
When you look at it that way, it makes more sense to categorise
SUNWgroff as under documentation or documentation tools than it does
under "Terminal-based".
