There's a bug covering this missing functionality, http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=5786 so everyone participating in this thread should probably go voice your needs in the bug instead, so it is recorded for posterity. My bet is that once IPS leaves the lab playground and into the production floor features such as this one (or equivalent functionality) which are ugly but necessary in real production use will soon be escalated into existence. -- Jyri J.
