I agree with Mike..., the reason that (way back when this started) Kevin got the
freemware newsgroup started up was for user questions (then a bunch of Itallian
hackers decided to take over the newsgroup by force......, which is another issue
altogether). The whole idea of having the separate newsgroup was so that if you
had just joined the group, and somebody had just asked the same question that you
have--the answer would still be there on the server for a couple of weeks
(depending on the amount of traffic to the newsgroup).
I think that attempting to get some sort of user forum would be a good idea once
Kevin finishes the next round of code-improvement modifications (and perhaps
after somebody with CVS write permission integrates my keyboard.cc/keyboard.h
additions --hint--hint-- ;^) ). I am also completely behind the idea of an
online FAQ of some sort, and would be happy to maintain it--it just hasn't been
put up on the server yet so far as I know. (Who is the current web-admin right
now anyway?)
Also, possibily in the future we could petition to have the old freemware
newsgroup removed (being the original petitioners....) and replaced with a
"clean-start" plex86 newsgroup (for the user questions). But, once again, this
is something to be considered in the future, and shouldn't be done yet (that was
the mistake with the freemware newsgroup......).
