        I have yet to see a channel take longer than 4 minutes on my
machine, and I'm only on a piddly cable modem. Are you talking about
Windows? Or Linux? Or Plucker Desktop?
David, don't forget that I did tests two months ago on performance for these same reasons, even did profiling. Windows Python is just very slow at this stuff, I presume because of how sockets are handled.

Still, 23 hours indicates he's going too deep or churning the disk too much.
