> "HOWTO Pay for Free Software", http://puzzling.org/pub/HOWTO/Free/

I wrote to Mary on January 4th about this, and was asking if she
would allow me to distribute it in Plucker format at Linuxworld. I asked her
what license she was going to distribute it under and what terms she would
allow redistribution, if any. Here is her response:

She may very well have cleaned it up by this point, not sure. I'll
contact her and see if she has, and if so, I'll put it on the Samples page
for download.

This is a very important point. Some of us don't have much time left
for doing things that we _want_ to do, and many of us aren't employed. We
spend our days trying to make ends meet doing whatever we can to survive,
and what's left of our nights writing and improving Free Software because it
is something we all like to do.
