I did this before for the Plucker lists (and pilot-link and
J-Pilot as well), and it really wasn't getting used that much, so I
stopped doing it. I can certainly revive it if necessary. It was
basically a read-only "view" of the existing mailing lists, with a few
extra newsgroups for non-mailing list discussions.
