I have received interesting ideas and encourage more.  As for solving my
specific issue I am going to try resetting a lib environment variable.
If it works I will post the details here.

I don't think God's got anything to do with it.  :)  None of your  
comments in this thread have had anything to do with remedying a  
specific Oracle issue, either, so I'm not sure why you're calling me  
out on that.

As I understood one of your previous messages, you made the point that  
early-stage application architecture decisions make scaling with  
cheaper hardware more feasible.  I agreed, and followed up with some  
ideas about how one might do this.

If you had ideas other than those, please share.  Or don't, it's  
Bryan's thread.  If he's got what he needs to get going, this can just  
die.
