im downloading partimage now, but should it work for a range of different hardware specifications?

config files for every PC using MAC addresses as point of reference
using PXE. installation is not that long. it takes about 15 to 30
minutes (and longer - depending on the package definiition).
but again, this is for only SuSE/RH based systems. the partimage way
would be ok as a general solution.
