i have only used partimage for my personal use since i only have one pc. i did not get to realize the knoppix+samba trick and even then our workstation computers are all of the same make (and all are running windows). i have not tried restoring an image to a machine with a different specification but i have read suggestions of a reinstall when changing motherboards so this option might not be the best/feasible for your situation. the kickstart solution might be more useful to you if it supports target machines with varying specifications. <snip> ciao! -- "Programming, an artform that fights back" Anuerin G.
