Journalists (tech journalists) are not technical people by and large. The article is too long and involved. I think it should be much shorter, much easier to read, and full of quotable quotes.

not that there's anything wrong with that, and if i understand
correctly, the objective is to promote use of linux and foss software,
which i'm totally for.
