I got Huawei e1552 to, and it works fine with network-manager in Ubuntu 9.10
My settings are as follows: MOBILE BROADBAND: number: *99# apn: http.globe.com.ph PPP SETTINGS: (same as default, with the following are enabled) - Allow BSD Data compression - Allow Deflate - Use TCP Header IPV4 SETTINGS: Method: Automatic (PPP) Address only DNS Servers: 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 (google DNS) There, and everything works fine. It is advisable to start ubuntu/desktop with dongle already inserted, if not yes inserted, wait awhile until the driver and configurations are properly configured.
