You do not have to register your POS with the BIR as long as you print on BIR approved Invoices and receipts.
Huh? 'ows that? you say? Configure your POS software and hardware such that it prints-out on your BIR registered forms -- voila! BIR approved system. Yes its a kludge, but its been done before and you save yourself a tidy bundle.
