Hi Danny,

In case more come forward to offer their Linux servers to mirror the
load curve, we will have to coordinate things, to avoid overloading our
source of the real-time display. My suggestion is for only one to get
the image from the source. Let us call it our main mirror. Then
everybody else has to be convinced to get it from our main mirror, not
from the original source. Otherwise, the source might balk at the extra
load and restrict access.

This is the kind of display I have in mind: http://www.wesm.ph/
inner.php/the_market/wholesale/market_data_and_reports/
daily_market_demand_and_lwap/luzon_and_visayas.

The WESM display above is not real-time (it's updated every hour). In
case we can't get any real-time display, we might have to make do with
this one. One complication: it seems the display above is not an image
file, I had to grab the image from my screen. It may need a little
programming to grab the image every 15 mins or so and then save it in a
format that facilitates further mirroring. You know much more about
this than I do, I'm sure.

You can start testing with above image now, and if we manage to
negotiate a more-frequently updated site, we can just change the source
URL.

Also, may I suggest that anyone else who wants to volunteer their
servers for this activity tag the real-time image with the term "no
brownouts in summer real-time display". This is the term we will ask
everyone to google, if they want the display.

By the way, in case anyone who wants to be closer to the action, you
can attend our brainstorming session this Tues, 4pm at the PRRM office
near Capitol Medical Center. (You can find the PRRM office via
Googlemaps.) Pls email (or text me: 0939-117-8999) if you intend to
attend.

Greetings to all pluggers,

Obet Verzola
