As with many mozilla projects, they don't offer an official repository
for installable packages at http://www.seamonkey-project.org.

A quick google took me to ubuntuzilla, which i'd completely forgotten about.

http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/ubuntuzilla/index.php?title=Main_Page

the installation instructions require a bit of
copy-command-string-and-paste-into-terminal, but that's preferable to
manually installing a tarball and setting the Applications menu.
