Larry/Joe: Now that the upgrade's installed it's balking at sending a message. The error it reports is that the smtp server doesn't support SMTP_AUTH, which it does (since I run that here) and I've not changed anything since it worked with the seamonkey-1.1.17. I don't want to disable 'use name and password' unless that's not opening a huge security hole for her outgoing messages. Advice?
