No. I tend to stay logged in 24/7, and leave Thunderbird, Firefox, and 
Virtual Box running. I shut down Skype when not in use, and close 
LibreOffice files when they're finished. LO files stay open overnight if 
I'm still working on them. In particular with LO Writer, it loses the 
"ignore all" setting on what it thinks are misspelled words when a file 
is closed. It's not a big deal to run spell check again, but it's a 
minor annoyance that is avoided by leaving them open. I do save before 
walking away.

I don't know if Ubuntu has that feature. Is it an Xfce feature or a 
slackware feature? I suppose it could be there and I just never tried 
it. It's very rare for me to just log out.
