we've been using slackware for more than 4 years now and I'd have to admit
that it is relatively harder to configure for newbies than the other
distros. The installer is stuck at the stone ages while others migrated to
a graphical UI (which in my experience stalls more often than not) . Xfree
is not integrated into the installer ... now I prefer configuring things
via the command line instead using UI (linuxconf for example)
It's good to try different distros first, then settle on which suits you
best ...
