With Hardware RAID, AFAIK, you just need to have your controller supported
by your kernel and you just see one volume. I have yet to give a "tried
and tested" answer, though. I'm building a new server for our company, and
this baby will be using a 3Ware Escalade 6400 RAID controller. One of the
few true hardware IDE RAID controllers that supports Linux. I'm excited!
