This is true. OO is slow to start up, but once there, don't kill it! just put it on its own virtual desktop. The interface is fast enough. I suspect on LTSP configurations OO is slow because of font loading. You see, on an LTS terminal, the FONTS are mounted over the network!!! remember the LTS client is just an X terminal. I did a similar config some time ago; not LTS but Oracle NIC's. These have their fonts on a CD-ROM, but they have relative fast (233MHz) processors and 64MB RAM.
