I picked up an ATI TV-Wonder-VE cheap over here, US$30.  The only
limitation is that it doesn't do stereo sound.  Works great with xawtv
and MythTV, and it's based on the well-supported Brooktree chipset.  The
card is essentially the same as the TV-Wonder (without the stereo
sound), but the Windows-based software that ships with it is slightly
crippled.  Under Linux, or other Windows software, it doesn't matter.
