Because I chose to. Hagibis already mentions the
reasons, and would also add physical space
requirements and time. Install/configure with
linux will take a few hours to days of
optimization & performance tweaking. I can buy a
hardware solution that exceeds my requirements,
all for an hour of work at the office.

I know. As a Linux user, i started with a
pentium 133 as my firewall. It all works fine
except that the significant other half noticed
that MSN messenger voice does not work (upnp
support) and CounterStrike is slow.
