thanks for the replies. i am hesitant on using dd because if im not mistaken
then it dumps everything from the source, including unused blocks. my
dilemma is that the recipient machine where i will store the image has
specifications equal to the one being imaged. i would be running out of
space before i can complete the operation.
hmmn, i guess i would settle for the fdisk+partimage+samba combination
unless somebody can point me to an app that does what fdisk+partimage can
do. the compression is also a factor since we dont have that much resources
to spare.
