Right. Even if stable, I don't think using Windoze for kiosks is a smart move - very expensive license for something which is not going to see general use, plus I think it's fair to say that *if you use an appropriate distro*, Linux is far more easily and reliably customized for kiosk purposes.

Linux would be tailor-made for kiosks... there are decent
Linux Flash/Shockwave players, I hope...?

and as for server env? Who gives a thought about it,
especially with the new vulnerabilities cropping up in IIS?

MS has announced a 'Safe Computing' initiative and based on their technical achievements so far, I think they have gained more credibility. But it remains to be seen whether they can actually pull this off successfully.


But to simply with a broad brush tar their products as crappy is incorrect.

Back in the days of Win 9X, I wouldn't hesitate to do so though.
