It may be a bit long, but IMHO, it would be better if we can put in
concrete figures, say, about how much a lean PC would cost with the
most basic (proprietary) software installed, as opposed to having OS
alternatives.

Also, maybe we can CC it to the departments concerned (ASTI, NCC,
ITECC, etc), and get their support as well. And, may I suggest posting
this in websites (Open Minds, PLUG)?
