My take on this.... 1. If we send it to the Office of the President, it may NOT be read by the president. However, I might be able to help out here - I know people there. :)
2. I agree that we should present more than simply stating that it costs less. Support is very important here - who can provide support? UP can provide support to government offices PROVIDED that we get a fraction of the savings that each agency gets from shifting to Open Source. :P 3. How can we sign the document? I think it is a good idea if we can raise money to have it printed as a full-page advert on major national dailies. This way, everybody can see it. However, we may be competing against Microsoft head-on here and on a daily page-by-page advert, we will definitely lose. :( 4. We may also get other non-government organizations to sign this letter. I am sure that the Philippine Medical Informatics Society will sign it as well. :) -- Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [EMAIL PROTECTED] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Official Website: http://plug.linux.org.ph Searchable Archives: http://marc.free.net.ph .
