My take on this....

1. If we send it to the Office of the President, it may NOT be read by
the president. However, I might be able to help out here - I know
people there. :)

2. I agree that we should present more than simply stating that it
costs less. Support is very important here - who can provide support?
UP can provide support to government offices PROVIDED that we get a
fraction of the savings that each agency gets from shifting to Open
Source. :P

3. How can we sign the document? I think it is a good idea if we can
raise money to have it printed as a full-page advert on major national
dailies. This way, everybody can see it. However, we may be competing
against Microsoft head-on here and on a daily page-by-page advert, we
will definitely lose. :(

4. We may also get other non-government organizations to sign this
letter. I am sure that the Philippine Medical Informatics Society will
sign it as well. :)
