hey, be glad if one distro that is active like slackware dont have a
security advisory , because thats means that distro is a solid as rock.

:) hehehe Guess the pressure(Work & presonal--and
don't forget MS via suppliers,etc.--- as we begin to
depend more on GNU/Linux--Slackware) just got to me,
sorry....
by the way that is IMHO?

Bryan,
I have three production servers all running
Slackware,
IMHO, Slackware is just rock solid, no BS distro and
only uses the most
stable compilation of programs available.
Do you have any examples wherein an application
needs security patches and
Slackware did not provide a patched package? :)

Kenneth

Just thought I missed something....
Note to my self I think I need to get my hands on a
faster computer hehehehe....
Compilation just takes too long.... thats why we
have
been depending on patches
Thanks :)

Hi,
I've noticed lately that the slackware distro has
not
released any new securiuty advisories ,or any new
patches (niether slackware not gus-br) While
other
distros have been constanly releasing patches....
IIRC, this might be a side effect of the distro
packager's (i.e.
Patrick Volkerding) recent illness.
Is Slackware 10.0 still reliable to use on
production
systems?
I'm going on my opinion, so IMO, yes... You might
have to do the
patching yourself, from source. Anyway, if you're
going Slak, I figure
you better know what you're doing.
