[PLUG] HP Scanner issue

I have an HP MFP M148dw all-in-one printer/scanner. The printer works 
fine, but the scanner doesn't. It used to on an earlier version of 
xubuntu. When I try scanning I get the following error message:

scanimage -L
device 
`hpaio:/net/hp_laserjet_pro_m148-m149?ip=192.168.0.109&queue=false' is a 
Hewlett-Packard hp_laserjet_pro_m148-m149 all-in-one


Web searches haven't helped me figure out how to resolve this. Any ideas 
where to start?
