Ed, That's why I thought it would work with the Lexmark. Having been burned on the Dell I wanted another opinion from someone more into hardware than I am.
once the ppd/filter is installed, you "install" CUPS printer via http://localhost:631/admin as for any printer.
That's what I assumed.
OTOH, Look for the Lexmark C3426DW as that printer is included in CUPS and via foomatic (Slackbuilds.org)
It's more expensive, but more certain to work, so I'll order one. Thank you, Rich
