I am not sure I could agree with this idea. Although it's true that many people don't bother signing messages with crypto keys anymore, I tend to still think there's some usage for GPG and it's cousins, even in email. Part of the problem has always been that people don't want to take the time to either manually sign the message (which can be a pain) or setup a utility that will let them automate it. If we could get past that laziness, I think there would be a huge resurgence of interest in PGP/GPG. Just my $0.36 (adjusted for inflation). --- Dan On Fri, Nov 6, 2015 at 5:00 AM, Jonathan Duncan <[email protected] > wrote: > On Thu, Nov 5, 2015 at 12:55 PM, Josh <[email protected]> wrote: > > > As far as I understand it, the GPG/PGP web of trust is alive and well. > > (links below) > > > > If PLUG isn't interested in doing a PGP key signing party I can see if > > any of the other LUG's in the area would be interested. > > > > Ohio linux festival: https://ohiolinux.org/content/bof07 > > At open west: http://www.openwest.org/key-signing-party/ > > Southeast linux fest: http://www.southeastlinuxfest.org/?p=1296 > > The regularly take place at WineConf: > > http://wiki.winehq.org/KeySigningParty > > They regularly take place at Ubucon: > > https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KeySigningParty > > > > > That is cool.
