It looks like mplayer is not managing to get any data from the BBC site. I think you have checked mplayer works but could you time how long it takes for mplayer to start playing a stream. I think you said you used the AlienBBC install, if so there is an mplayer test batch file in "C:\Program Files\SlimServer\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread". Also, I think you radio station timeout is only 15s, you could try increasing it. I think the most likely problem is your firewall, you could try checking it's logs to see what it is blocking.
