With layout already set to automatic, open settings, change nothing, press left-arrow to exit. I see a flicker, but it remains in settings until I press again. With layout already set to desktop, open settings, change to automatic, press left-arrow to exit. I see flicker, layout setting changes back to desktop and remains in settings. Hope that helps.
