This is a test version of the PlayHLS V2.x plugin. Main difference is that LMS does all the HLS. No additional application is required. Audio data is sent to player if possible without transcoding.
To Install: * Add the following URL to WebUI Settings/Plugins tab - ideally replacing the existing PlayHLS repo . *http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/repo-playhls-v2-beta.xml* * Enable it if required once installed. * There is no indication that plugin is installed except on WebUI Settings/Plugins Features: * Support Packed Audio AAC and MP3. * supports MPEG2 - AAC * supports ID3 metadata - title, artist and iHeart images. Known issues: * iHeart station - some audio dropouts - not clear if it is the station or the plugin. Drop outs were also heard with ffmpeg. * If playing from "preset" with logo such as Favorite or iheart plugin - the station logo is replaced by "antenna" when no art metadata from plugin. * No test with MP3 streams (couldn;t find a station - Addict radio has stopped) * No support for MPEG4 Status: I've tested with a number of stations from US( iHeart), France, Belgium, Germany, Finland, Spain, Australia,S.Africa and Japan. No real long duration test done (only a couple of hours non-stop) Tested on LMS 7.9.2, Perl 5.26 Ubuntu 18.04 and briefly on Win10 systems.
