Did you ever find a solution for this issue? I am experiencing exactly
the same thing several times a day (Playback suddenly stops and jumps to
the end of the playlist).
What I could observe so far are is that usually when this happens two
other things are happening as well (which may by cause or effect of the
issue, I can't tell):
- My Squeezebox2 would crash/lose server connection and cannot
reconnect for a minute or two
- Below entry would show up in the log file:

Not everytime the log entry comes the playback stops, but it seems
everytime the playback stops then this entry is coming.
My Setup (all players are in one sync group):
- LMS 7.9.1 on Synology Diskstation (Intel 64bit)
- Squeezebox 2 on LAN
- 2x Squeezebox Radio on WLAN
