I have been running a similar monitor configuration. Don't know what that was all about, but glad you did something that fixed it. Your suggestion that the buttons could have been getting located elsewhere seems logical to me. Maybe it was the Windows Update. The decimal codes I am using for Maximized and Restore are 50 and 49 in the Marlett font.
