I am aware, that they are different beasts, but the question is, how easy is it to setup Home Assistant to fi=unction ONLY as s bridge to HomeKit. I assume, it will be a bit of work, after reading this…. I am have a home bridge plugin, which I use to switch the players on (from a hue dimmer switch in one case) and I also controlled the volume with. So it works - but I do not know why and from time to time the plugin crashes which stops the complete home bridge system… If anybody is interested in contributing to the plugin, you are welcome. Ideal would be a plugin for LMS, which provides the integration to HomeBridge...
