Thanks, David. The debug log is very helpful. Unfortunately, the Squeeze
Ctrl app is letting me down again. For some reason, it is setting the
client volume to 0 during the "power on" sequence so that is the value
that the plugin retrieves and uses to synchronize the AVR volume. Thus,
no volume. Then, the first time you use the onscreen volume buttons, it
suddenly sets the client volume to its actual setting (in your case,
70), which explains the sudden volume increase. I did, however, see
another possible way to sync the client volume to the AVR volume in the
log which might prove fruitful. The next version I upload will include a
change to test that theory. Your perception of the onscreen volume
buttons changing the volume by 10% is an illusion. Each press of the
buttons sends a +1% or -1% volume change. However, there are so many
being sent that the plugin and the AVR can't keep up and that's why the
volume appears to jump in larger increments. I have a couple of
suggestions:

#1. Change the Squeeze Ctrl variable that controls the volume increment
of the onscreen buttons from 1 to 5.
#2. Try just tapping the button once every second or two to see if that
makes the volume changes seem smoother.
#3. Although Squeeze Ctrl is a very popular app with thousands of loyal
users, it does not play particularly well with this plugin. Just for an
experiment, I would like you to download the Squeezer app and try it
out. It is free so there's no risk. I think you'll find that it is quite
intuitive, easy to use and, among other things, will report the correct
client volume setting to the plugin during "power on" so that you won't
experience the muting followed by the sudden volume increase. It also
sends all volume up/down commands in increments of +/-5%, which works
well for the plugin. Give it a try if you can, and let me know what you
think.

I should have a new version of Plugin.pm for you to test in the next day
or two. Thanks again for your help.
