Just run the 3 sed commands with sudo. But probably not much harm in running the script as root. Just be aware that tce-load cannot run with root permissions, so be sure to preface with "sudo -u tc ...." if you run the script as root.
The other thing I would change. Set your working path to /tmp/$packagename That way an odd problem doesn't leave stuff in the users home directory to blowup the backup.
