All I'm asking for is that the inital post should say "Ok, just uploaded Moose 0.56 to both the group and the site. Moose is a Windows GUI frontend to SlimServer". If I'm scanning a list of announcements like this, it will take me so much longer to find the entries that might interest me. And the obvious risk is that I won't bother to click on the links for the announcements that would have interested me.
