Is there a reason it has been removed?
The integrated server was badly outdated, often running on the edge of the possible, unable to run plugins, terribly slow. And recent versions would no longer run.
Is there a way I can roll-back to a slightly earlier FW (or is this not recommended).
You should be able to put a copy of an older firmware on a USB stick or SD card (FAT formatted), and install from there.
Find the latest official firmwares here: http://update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/8.3.0/. Copy the two "fab4" files.
