It works "after a fashion" when using a browser in Android. Instead of opening the pdf file in a new tab, as happens on a desktop, the user is prompted to download the pdf, which can then be opened in a viewer. I have always assumed this limitation is built into Android and there's nothing you can do about it. That's been my experience with Chrome, Firefox, and an open source browser called Lightning. It looks like the APK tries to open the file, but since it can't, it just shows a black screen with a title bar at the top. LMS 8 nightly running on Raspberry Pi OS.
